The Value and Dedication of our Mother

August 28, 2010

From Rochester, New York, Amir recites a poem about his mother.. an example of many mothers and the duties of man.  It is just beautiful..”simply beautiful to hear a MAN who was raised by his MOTHER acknowledge the part she played in his development.”    Enjoy…

MOM: Mean old mother

March 31, 2009

 Poem to Mom

‘Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that’s taught by Mr. Wright?
It’s all about the laws today,
The ‘Children’s Bill of Rights.’

My son  came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.

It says I need not clean my room,
Don’t have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don’t have to bow my head,
And I sure don’t have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
Get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I’ll charge you with a crime.
I’ll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.

Don’t you ever touch me,
My body’s only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that’s just more child abuse..

TRUST GOD TO OPEN THE DOOR

February 5, 2009

‘Whenever God Closes One

Door He Always Opens

 door

Another, Even Though

Sometimes It’s Hell in the

Hallway.’

Where a woman came from

January 24, 2009

“Beautiful words to the wise…Be careful if you make a women cry because Allah the most high counts her tears. A women came out of the rib of man, not his feet to be walked on, nor his head to be superior over; she came from his side to be his companion, under his arm to be protected, and next to his heart to be be loved.”-Ustadha Hedaya Hartford

Today I Found A Friend

January 23, 2009

Today I Found a Friend

Today I found a friend,

Who knew everything I felt

She knew my every weakness,

And the problems I’ve been dealt.

She understood my wonders,

And listened to my dreams.

She listened to how I felt about life and love,

And knew what it all means.

Not once did she interrupt me,

Or tell me I was wrong.

She understood what I was going through,

And promised she’d stay long.

I reached out to this friend

To show her that I care,

To pull her close and let her know

How much I need her there.

I went to hold her hand

To pull her a bit nearer,

And realized that this perfect friend I found

Was nothing but my mirror.

Pearls of Wisdom

September 16, 2008

Pearls of Wisdom

1. The good you find in others, is in you too; and the faults you find in others, are your faults as well.

2. The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.

3. To change your world, you must change yourself.

4. To blame and complain will only make matters worse.

5.What you see in others, shows you yourself——-See the best in others, and you will be your best.

6. Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful; Admire creativity, and you will be creative.

7. Love, and you will be loved. Give to others, and you give to yourself.

8. Seek to understand, and you will be understood.

9. Listen, and your voice will be heard.

10. Show your best face to the mirror, and you will be happy with the face looking back at you.

I’m an Individual

September 14, 2008

You look at me and call me oppressed,
Simply because of the way I’m dressed,

You know me not for what’s inside,
You judge the clothing I wear with pride,

My body is not for your eyes to hold,
You must speak to my mind, not my feminine mould,

I’m an individual, I’m no mans slave,
It’s Allah’s pleasure that I only crave,

I have a voice so I will be heard,
For in my heart I carry His word,

“O ye women, wrap close your cloak,

so you won’t be bothered by ignorant folk”,

Man doesn’t tell me to dress this way,
It’s a law from God that I obey,

Oppressed is something I’m truly NOT,
For liberation is what I’ve got,

It was given to me many years ago,
With the right to prosper, the right to grow,

I can climb mountains or cross the seas,
Expand my mind in all degrees,

For God Himself gave us LIB-ER-TY,
When He sent Islãm,
To You and Me!
